Manchester Gallery

All the photos I took at the gallery were of works by and artist called Joana Vasconcelos, except for the golden sculpture of a male figure. It was lucky I went to the museum when I did, as I wasn't aware of the exhibition. At first I wasn't keen on her work but it seemed to grow on me, for several reasons really. I liked the was it was just placed between all the permanent exhibits. her unique technique and the mass amount of colour. She used crochet to make 3D sculptures some of which stood on there own. I thought this was quite a bizarre choice of material, but it worked really effectively. Her work links to mine in a sense as it is abstract, sculpture/installation and querky in style.
